Hello and welcome back to another blog post! Today’s post is just going to be a quick little plug about the annual Bark in the Park, something I’ve done for 2yrs now.
Animal Care Society (Louisville’s first non-profit, no kill shelter) hosts this event every year that starts with the 5K walk (or run, if you’re feeling particularly motivated), but also features a number of booths from local rescues and/or dog friendly businesses as well as contests, raffles and auctions. The booths often house some free merch (i.e. balls, frisbees, bandanas) but also sometimes include items for sale as well. The general function of the event is to raise both money for the Animal Care Society and raise awareness about local shelters/rescues and businesses while having fun with your pup!
As an animal lover (and especially a dog lover) and as someone who really enjoys doing community service, Bark in the Park is always an event I look forward to every year.
So, if you are in the general Louisville area and you love animals, check out Bark in the Park next year (link here if you want more info about the event for future reference)! But even if this isn’t your particular thing, or you don’t live around here, find a cause you care about and get involved!
Until next time.
